Notes of Ludborough Parish Council Meeting

Wednesday 29th April 2026

1.0     Attendees at public forum

 

           None

4.0     Chairman’s remarks

 

         The Chairman welcomed everyone to the meeting.

 

5.0     Approval of notes from last meeting

 

           Notes to be resent to council 

 

6.0      Church Wall 

 

          Still on the case for the church wall, most recent quote was £10800, prev quoted £20K. Looking for grants to pay / help to pay. 

 

 

7.0     Pub Flowers & Gates  

 

         Flowers are temporarily on hold. 

8.0    Gates to be painted when weather picks up. 

 

 

9.0    Church Tree / Wall 

 

        Tree coming down on 21st and 22nd May, planned after wedding that is taking place there on 16th. Cost £3120. The plan is to have the wood chopped into smaller pieces          and available for local residents to take for a donations for the church. 

 

 

 

10.0    CCTV 

 

          Following recent events, discussion had about installing CCTV. Not an easy thing to put in place as a whole but agreed everyone to look after their own property and that            the Whatsapp group has been successful and been used for alerting the village when events occur. 

 

 

11.0     Bus Stops 

 

           These have now been replaced by the council, completed and old ones taken away the same day. Benches now looking old, need painting, this to be done when                     weather picks up. Same with the phone box. 

 

 

12.0     Solar Panel Action Group 

 

           Leaflets now been delivered in Utterby & North Thoresby.

          Cllr Richard Fry met with NI to discuss the proposed plans. In the region of 45 emails been sent to local Councillors, VIPs etc. Plans to reach outside of the village to                    highlight the issues on local roads. Expecting 100 vehicles per day on site, they have been given instructions to use other entrance but worry it will come in to the village. 

          Objection letter is going in from the Parish Council. Local residents will have their opportunity soon. Each individual needs to do one. 

         Highlighted that Total are quoting that the land is only used to grow animal feed but this isn’t true.

The next meeting, is to take place on Thursday 28th May 2026 - venue TBC
